Get your own profile page

Most Canberra trade businesses have a Facebook page and a phone number. That's it. A profile here is a proper page you can send to a customer, that says what you do, where you work and what your licence number is — without you having to build a website.

Profile pricing isn't set yet, and we're not going to invent a number. We're signing up the first group of Canberra trades now and working the rate out with them. Register your interest and you'll be told the price before anything is charged. There's no card to enter anywhere on this site today.

What's on a profile

What you actually do

Your trades, written properly — not a dropdown category. If you do switchboards and fencing and nothing else, the page says that.

Where you'll travel

Your districts, or a radius. Belco only, or the whole ACT and Queanbo. Customers stop ringing you about jobs you'd never drive to.

Your real credentials

ABN, licence number, public liability. Shown once you've handed the paperwork over — and not one second before.

Your photos

Six to twelve of your own jobs, captioned, swapped whenever you like. Your work, not stock images.

How you quote

Hourly or fixed, GST registered or not, how materials get charged, how variations work. The stuff customers actually want to know before they ring.

A quote button that works

Goes through the job form, so the job arrives written down with photos instead of as a missed call at 4:50pm on a Friday.

What's deliberately not on it

This is the bit that makes the whole thing worth having.

  • No made-up reviews. We will not write nice things about your business and dress them up as a customer's words. If reviews go on a profile one day, they'll be from actual customers who actually used you.
  • No star rating out of nothing. A 4.8 built from thin air is worse than no rating at all, and customers have worked that out. We do keep an internal standing that decides who gets first look at a lead — that's the Good Books, and it stays private.
  • No "verified" tick until you're verified. Hand over the licence and the insurance, we check them, then the page says so. Not before.
  • No borrowed photos. The gallery is your work or it's empty.
  • No promises about how much work you'll get. A profile is a page. It isn't a guarantee of a single job, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling you something.

Why bother

Something to send people

When someone asks "have you got a website", a link beats "nah, just give us a ring". Costs you nothing to send and it answers half their questions before they call.

It shows up in searches

Pages on this site are built to be found for the things people actually type — the trade, the suburb, the job. Your profile sits inside that, linked from the trade and district pages you cover.

Fewer time-wasting calls

If the page says you don't do Tuggers and you don't do gas, the calls about Tuggers and gas mostly stop.

Your own customers come back to you

Every job form has an "got an old mate you already use?" box. Tell your regulars to post here and put your name in it, and the job lands with you first before it goes to anyone else. You get their job written down with photos and a budget instead of a voicemail, and it costs you nothing.

It makes you look like a business

Especially for strata managers, agents and commercial buyers, who will look you up before they call and who care about licence and insurance more than they care about your logo.

How it works

  1. Register your business. Trades, suburbs, contact details. Five minutes and it costs nothing.
  2. Send through your paperwork — ABN, licence, certificate of currency. This is what lets us put a checked mark on the page honestly.
  3. We write the first draft with you and you approve it before it goes live. Your words, your call.
  4. Send us photos whenever you've got them. Take them on the job, email them through, they go up.
  5. Change it any time. New trade, new suburb, gave up doing bathrooms — tell us and it's updated.
